Tuesday night’s Merced Speedway USAC Midget feature was scheduled for 30 laps and it went green all the way through for the second time in the past week.
Likewise, Justin Grant did his thing again, getting his second straight win in the series for the first time in his career.
The win comes late in the year, as the USAC Midget tour has just two races remaining on the season – Wednesday night at Merced and this Saturday.
Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson both saw issues in qualifying that put them back and each driver missed the A-Main.
Buddy Kofoid picked up a podium finish and put a big lead over Chris Windom in the standings. Windom might have to win the next feature in order to make things competitive for the finale.
The USAC Midget Series returns to the track on Wednesday for a second night of racing at Merced Speedway, scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. CT and televised live on FloRacing.
