Nitro Rallycross enters final weekend of '22-'23 racing

Nitro Rallycross, America’s premier rally racing touring series, enters its final weekend of the season this Friday with a visit to Glen Helen Raceway in California.

The weekend, which will feature three full A-Main events that contribute towards point totals in the series championship.

That differs from the events that points leader Robin Larsson has thrived with through the season, which featured a qualifying day before the main event for the weekend.

They’re upping the ante with the tripleheader at Glen Helen, and putting the pressure on Larsson to defend his 34-point lead.

Andreas Bakkerud is Larsson’s biggest competition, but he has just one win to Larsson’s three.

Fraser McConnell, Oliver Eriksson, and ’21-’22 champion Travis Pastrana are each in contention for the title and are all within 65 points of Larsson.

A tough race or any DNF could swing things in more ways than one, and with three races, there’s no telling what might happen.

Pastrana’s Nitro Circus brand will perform twice during each of the opening pair of days, where the Nitro RallyCross A-Main is set for approximately 9:20 p.m. CT (both Friday & Saturday on Peacock). Sunday’s A-Main is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT (on Peacock).
